Data Entry Clerk, PT

Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking a detail-oriented person who enjoys working independently. Our data entry clerks are trusted with verifying that accurate and complete information is entered into our systems, which helps ensure donor and patient safety.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs data entry of Donor History Questionnaires (DHQ) donations and deferrals.
  • Identifies problems and notifies supervisor when resolution of situation is not possible.
  • Maintains donor records and related functions.
  • Checks quality and completeness of imaged records prior to original records destruction.
  • Performs system queries and runs reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • PC and computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.

Experience:

Previous data entry experience is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to type 45-50 wpm
  • Attention to detail.
  • Maintain data integrity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ask questions that can be easily understood, and read, comprehend and apply information contained in written.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team to productively collaborate and meet goals/objectives.

  • Flexible with schedule – able to adjust to varying work schedule and days off.
  • Must be available to be scheduled to work any weekday from 6:00 pm – 12:00 am midnight, AND Saturdays and/or Sundays.   
  • The hours listed may vary slightly, depending on operational needs.  Scheduled days of work may also vary from week to week. 
  • Position will be scheduled to work 16 hours/week.
