Positions Currently AvailablePhlebotomistsFull Time positions only. Greet, screen and care for donors throughout the donation process. Will perform medical histories, take vital signs and phlebotomies on volunteer blood donors. Must be a team player with excellent customer service skills. Will be scheduled on mobile sites throughout the State, however, Blood Bank will provide transportation from the main office to the mobile site. Mobiles also include neighbor island travel requiring ability to stay 3 days and 2 nights. Airfare, hotel and ground transportation arranged and paid for by the Blood Bank. Must be available to work flexible hours between Sunday - Saturday, including holidays. Start and end times of shift varies with mobile assignment. Hours may start as early as 4:00 am and end at 8:30 pm. Prefer CNAs or MAs; phlebotomy certificate not necessary. On the job training is provided. Must also be a licensed driver. Field RepresentativeFull Time position. Develop and expand the base of volunteer blood donors in assigned regions. Promotes and markets the Blood Bank's mission and strategic objectives in the community. Services, motivates and manages groups of donors to continue and increase participation in Hawaii's Community Blood Donor program. Promotes interest, education and support in the blood program statewide. Must be articulate, enthusiastic, independent, and able to manage time and work flow. Must be able to relate effectively to the public, to include individuals and the community both in private and public sectors. College graduate or experience in sales and marketing. Demonstrated sales and marketing skills and successful in motivating people. Must have highly developed skills in human relations and communications, possess sound judgment,organizational skills and be a goal-oriented self-starter. Must be computer literate, able to travel, have a valid driver's license, use of own vehicle on the job and be flexible with work hours to meet blood needs in the community. Base salary plus incentive program. Telephone RecruiterPart Time positions only. Conducts one-to-one telephone recruitment of volunteer blood donors, meeting regulatory requirements as well as the Blood Bank’s standard operating procedures. Interview donor over the telephone to determine if the donor meets the Blood Bank’s donor eligibility requirements. Gathers personal data to be used to create and update door records. Must be knowledgeable about the Blood Bank’s donor recruitment and retention policies and procedures. Type 45 wpm, pleasant disposition and attitude, good communication skills. Sales or marketing background a plus. CDL DriverPart Time position. CDL license with A or B endorsement. Drive the Bloodmobile to and from mobile sites on Oahu. Sets up and breaks down mobile drives; lifting requirements up to 50#. Preps supplies and equiptment, pack blood bag units and samples for safe transport. Picks up and delivers blood and blood products from mobile sites to the Blood Bank laboratory. May require travel to neighbor islands, staying 3 days and 2 nights. Requires flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays. Please include a current copy of driver's abstract with application.
